The world of wrestling knows that WWE legends, Charles Wright and The Undertaker are more like brothers. Since both men are friends in real life, their in-ring matches were nothing short of pure entertainment. They have wrestled each other frequently, including ones with various stipulations. The Godfather reveals one such instance.

The Godfather speaking about The Undertaker
Charles Wright aka., The Godfather was a recent guest at the “That 90s Wrestling Podcast”. In the interview, Wright revealed his relationship inside the ring with Undertaker. He said,
“I always liked working with that dude. I’ve worked with him as five-six different characters. I’ve always loved working with him, a pleasure. We started off together and stuff and to this day we are still pretty good friends.
“I love working with him. I’ve worked with him as Soultaker, Papa Shango, as Goodfather, as Godfather, as Kama Mustafa. I have worked with him a lot of different times. I’ve been in so many different caskets it’s not funny.” (H/T Sportskeeda)
Be it as Papa Shango, Soultaker, or Godfather, his matches with the Undertaker never stopped entertaining the fans. Apart from in-ring wrestling, even their promos were well received by the fans as both friends took shots at each other via hilarious promos.

Charles Wright gives the backstory of the Godfather gimmick
During the interview, Wright explained the roots of The Godfather gimmick in WWE. He said that towards the end of The Nation of Domination’s run, WWE was not really doing anything with him. Wright stated that Mark Henry and D’Lo were sort of pairing off together. The Rock was kind of going on his own and Wright was kind of getting lost in the shuffle.

He and his wife got together, and they created this Godfather character. After that, Wright and Bradshaw started playing with it in the house shows and it started getting over with fans. Wright pulled off the gimmick so well that it landed him a spot in the WWE Hall of Famer in 2016.
