Let’s call a spade a spade and admit that Tony Khan has been dealing with tumult within his company, AEW. While AEW stands as WWE’s significant rival in the market, it doesn’t possess the same level of organization and management efficiency as the Stamford-based promotion does. During a recent interview, former WCW president, Eric Bischoff, addressed the predicament that Tony Khan is in.

Let’s face it, WWE is a well-oiled machine due to its effective management. On the other hand, Tony Khan seems to be losing control of his company with each passing day. That said, Eric Bischoff held Khan accountable for the lack of order inside the walls of AEW. This comes after AEW has reportedly passed WWE’s ticket sales tally at WrestleMania 32, with nearly 81,000 tickets either sold or distributed.

AEW looked like a ticking time bomb last year after the infamous All Out media scrum incident. Although CM Punk was brought back on AEW’s new weekly show, Collision, fences have not yet been mended. Moreover, new problems continue to arise. It’s conspicuous that there is a lot of animosity between certain talents.

In addition, AEW talents do not hold themselves back from saying what they want, even though it is something controversial. All these factors combined are detrimental to the company and a result of poor management, per Eric Bischoff.

While speaking on the Strictly Business Podcast, Bischoff expressed his puzzlement over how self-destructive AEW has become. Not only does he blame the talents but also Tony Khan for not putting his foot down and demanding order.

He said, “With the CM Punk situation that we’ve all known about in the past and the brawls in the Executive Vice Presidents involved in it, I mean oh my God, it’s just mind-numbing to me,” he continued, “This is a lack of leadership, it’s a lack of control, it’s a lack of management, it is literally the inmates running the asylum at this point and the entire company looks like a giant clown car filled with juvenile, unprofessional, self-absorbed children.”

Furthermore, the former linchpin of WCW stated that he was ’embarrassed’ for Tony Khan. Considering the current scenario, AEW is performing well as it approaches its major PPV event, All In, scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium on August 27.

However, internal conflicts could potentially undermine the company. Anyway, Eric Bischoff also empathized with Tony Khan, as he admittedly faced similar situations during his run as a leader.

Despite holding Tony Khan responsible, Eric Bischoff expresses empathy for the AEW President

Eric Bischoff is well-known for his role in the upper management of WCW. And so he was once in the same position as Tony Khan is now. While it’s true that AEW talents, at this point, are wreaking havoc within the system due to the ongoing anarchy and infighting, Bischoff believes that Khan must take responsibility.

He also stated that he was once in the same spot as Khan. He said, “I’m not going to say it’s never happened to me, it did happen to me, I’ve experienced it, which is why I have a fair amount of empathy for Tony Khan right now.”

Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see how Tony Khan plans to deal with the internal chaos in AEW. Until then, it will be interesting to see the response the upcoming event, All In, receives in the UK.
