WWE Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle has earned yet another accolade. Game developers Virtual Basement announced on Sunday that Angle will be featured in “The Wrestling Code.”

The Hall of Famer is the latest one to join the game’s playable roster. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.

Apart from Angle, the men’s roster features the likes of Rob Van Dam, Raven, Brian Cage, Scott Steiner, Lance Storm, Brian Pillman Jr, Matt Sydal, The Bushwhackers, Cryme Tyme among others.

Meanwhile, the women’s roster features Thunder Rosa, and Willow Nightingale, with Velvet Sky as future DLC, Tay Conti, Killer Kelly, Lady Frost, etc. Former Impact Champion Rich Swann, Kylie Rae, Su Yung were also going to be a part but the agreement fell through.

The official announcement for Angle’s addition in the game said, “It’s True. It’s DAMN True! @RealKurtAngle. Olympic Gold Medalist (with a broken freakin neck), Impact Hall of Famer, WWE Hall Of Famer, Video Game Icon… We hope everyone is having a fantastic 4th of July.”

The picture added to the post had Kurt Angle posing with the contract from Virtual Basement LLC with certain parts of it blacked out. See the tweet below –

Kurt Angle in other games

Thanks to his prominence and relevance in the pro wrestling industry, Kurt remains an indispensable part of the gaming industry associated with sports entertainment.

Angle appeared in every WWE/F video game from 2000’s WWF Royal Rumble up to WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007, released in 2006. His appearance included the games of WrestleMania 21, WWE SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain, WWE WrestleMania XIX among others.

Angle was removed from WWE gaming when he went to work with Impact in 2006. There, he was featured in TNA Impact!, TNA Wrestling, and TNA Wrestling Impact! games.

In 2017 he left Impact and came back to WWE to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Subsequently, he became the General Manager of RAW.

After an eleven-year absence, Angle made his return to WWE video games as a playable character in WWE 2K18 (downloadable content), before subsequently appearing in WWE 2K19 and WWE 2K20.
