Cody Rhodes did not appreciate Paul Heyman’s questionable tactics

Upcoming WWE sensation Cody Rhodes discussed various aspects of his career in the WWE, on the latest episode of WWE Super Dhamaal. The hosts asked about Rhodes’ reaction to how Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman made things personal. Rhodes shared his feelings on the hot topic.

He said “Um I wish that things would not have gotten to the level they’ve gotten, as far as Mr.Heyman and some of the… tactics. I’d say they are personal, but that’s not what made it personal.” Further, adding, “It’s a necessity to both superstars, both challenger and champion. And that is what makes the story incredibly special.” 

The American Nightmare is well aware of the success of his opponent. Roman Reigns is one of the longest-reigning undisputed champions in WWE, being undefeated for over 900+ days. However, Rhodes backs himself up because of his unyielding nature and his desire to become the WWE champion.

During the same interview, Cody Rhodes explained why the WrestleMania 39 battle is incredibly special to him. He said “Sometimes it’s not about the minutia and the backstage segments…” and added, “(its) about who’s going to walk away the champion.” Rhodes prefers to focus on achieving his goal of proving himself on the big stage.

The 2023 Royal Rumble champion believes both contenders have an equal chance to prove themselves. One is a veteran, with a string of victories and dominant performances. The other is eager to prove himself on the biggest stage. We need to wait until WrestleMania 39, to find the winner between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
