In London, Finn Balor failed to secure a victory against Seth Rollins during their championship bout. The long seven years of misery for Balor seem to continue for now, as he was left without a title. However, after the match, fans witnessed a rising tension between Damien Priest and Finn Balor.

Balor was inches away from winning the gold when Priest decided to show up and distract Balor. Rollins would capitalize on the situation and secure the victory, only to leave the two Judgment Day members tensed and fuming. However, at the post-event conference, Priest would speak his mind out, and reveal the situation between him and Balor.

Speaking at the post-event media conference, Priest would reveal the situation between him and Balor. The conclusion of the match saw, Balor getting into Priest’s face, and arguing with him. However, at the conference, Priest would reveal that everything was fine between them.

He said, “Look, sometimes there are misunderstandings. To be fair, we had a few lately. But, as far as The Judgment Day is concerned, Finn Balor and I are concerned, we are brothers. Everything is good.”

The former NXT North American Champion would analyze the situation and state, “I think he wasn’t sure, if I was there to cash-in on him, which wasn’t the goal. It Wasn’t an idea of mine. I did not wanna do that. I wanted Seth to feel the pressure of me possibly cashing-in, and I wanted Finn to win the title. Fortunately, didn’t happen that way. I cannot control that. Finn had the match won, just didn’t win. I mean there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Damien Priest is the current Money in The Bank holder, and Rollins now needs to be doubly aware of his surroundings. With both Balor and Priest lurking over his shoulder, Rollins now needs to be stronger than before.

Despite LA Knight being a favourite, why did WWE go with Damien Priest?

It has been a very rare occurrence that WWE has listened to their fans. Although LA Knight has been significantly over the past few months, he has failed to provide something specific to the promotion. Whereas, Priest winning the briefcase would actually mean a lot more, story-wise.

With the current rivalry between, Balor and Rollins, Priest winning the briefcase meant he could be added as the third-wheel. And also, after his tremendous showing at Backlash 2023, he had to be rewarded with something.

One of the most talented superstars on the roster, Priest was one of the most deserving names to win the briefcase.
