There has been much speculation and grievances among fans regarding Booker T’s humiliating elimination in the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble. Booker made his surprise entry as No 24 before being thrown out by Gunther in a blink. He lasted in the ring only for 42 seconds.
Some fans believe that the 6-time world champion was ‘jobbed out’ as he went through the middle rope instead of the top one. However, Booker T himself doesn’t seem to be content with the theory.

All WWE fans are surely aware of the term ‘Jobbing ‘, which literally means to lose to someone consciously to make the other one look good. But it was certainly not the case for Booker T. Recently, during a conversation on his ‘Hall of Fame podcast’, the star cleared all the air surrounding the controversy. He not only dismissed all these false assumptions but also mentioned that WWE did the correct thing regarding his interaction with Gunther.
Addressing some criticism, Booker T said, ”There’s a lot of people out there right now still saying that I’m officially still in the Royal Rumble because I went through the middle rope, I did not go over the top rope. That’s what people are saying but that just goes to show you how smooth I really am. Because I’m gonna tell you right now bro, I went over that top rope like butter. I went over that top rope like butter man. I was trying to make sure I was as close to the apron as possible when I went over it. That’s probably why I looked that way.”

Booker also didn’t hesitate to praise his co-star Gunther’s brilliant performance despite it causing the brutal destruction of his feel-good moment. ”GUNTHER did an awesome job making history. That guy’s going to be a major, major player here for WWE for a long time. It was my honor to do the favor for him,” The Great Accommodator elucidated.
Gunther’s standout performance in Royal Rumble 2023
The current WWE intercontinental champion Gunther gave a fiery performance in this year’s Royal Rumble last Saturday. Generally, we all tend to glorify only the winners for all the good reasons. But this time, despite Cody Rhodes winning the match, Gunther won our hearts. The Austrian superstar stole all the spotlights by setting a record of 1:11:40 hr duration staying in the ring. He also made most (5) elimination throughout his breathtaking 70 minutes of performance. The monster had been literally unstoppable until Cody Rhodes did the wonder and own the belt.

However, coming back to Booker T, it is safe to say that there is no possibility of the veteran superstar making his appearance again at WrestleMania as of now. Fans have no option left except to wait to see if the star will make his way back to the sport, sometime in the future or not.
