“It Was Kind of Humbling” – Despite His Legendary Status, the Undertaker Was Grateful for LeBron James ‘Homage’

In WWE, there will never be another Undertaker for he is a once-in-a-lifetime superstar. Every WWE fans are well aware of his 30-year legendary career and accomplishments. But when it comes to the person hidden behind the known gimmick, there are very few who really have any idea.

Probably many fans out there want to know more about the WWE superhero’s personal activities or imagine him in jovial situations like shopping, travelling, enjoying life in brief, just like us. More to their pleasure, The Undertaker has recently spent a good amount of time shopping sneakers.

The Undertaker felt honored by special homage from LeBron James

This unthinkable happened in reality in the Complex’s Snicker shopping web series. In this series, The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about a lot of things, including the most memorable moments in wrestling, his fondness with sneakers, etc. The conversation also included The Undertaker- designed special sneakers.

Basketball legend LeBron James, also made such a pair of sneakers named The LeBron 14 Undertaker in honour of Taker. Referring to this special pair of shoes, Undertaker noted, ”Anytime you see some kind of homage paid to yourself and it’s just it’s kind of humbling yeah. You know the kids are out there, you know, wearing their little LeBron Undertakers there. It’s a pretty cool feeling and I wish those shoes really turned out nice.’

The Undertaker likes to keep things low outside the ring in order to protect the mystique of his character. But after putting an end to his personal character back in 2020 after WrestleMania 36, he evolved a lot. He visibly became more candid in his interactions, interviews since then. However, while fans slowly started adapting with his changed self, the sneaker shopping video was still a surprise.

Undertaker’s unmatched legacy

Playing a ‘Deadman’ is something that is beyond training, but The Undertaker came and taught an entire generation of wrestling how to do phenomenal story telling along with the longest gimmick character ever. After getting the gimmick of the Undertaker, Calaway fully devoted himself to the character.

From adapting his performance in the ring, adapting his charisma and look, to limiting his personal interaction for protecting the surreal aura of The Undertaker, everything he has done was to make the character as authentic as possible. Ever since the 1991 Championship victory over Hulk Hogan, the man has always been a top draw for WWE. Throughout his career, Taker went through various shapes and forms of characters which didn’t allow fans to feel bored even for a second. His athleticism only complemented his size and amazing adaption ability.

However, while the taker is busy enjoying his happy time outside of the sport, fans are happy to see the childhood superhero of an entire generation spending his feel good moments, leaving all his legacy for the future wrestlers to carry forward.
