The fights primarily began due to the lawsuit filed by Dr. Chris Amann against Punk. This was due to Punk’s tirade on the Colt Cabana podcast alleging downright disgraceful medical treatment he received at the hands of Dr. Amann during his final run with WWE.
It included issues with concussions and mainly involved an untreated lump on Punk’s back that turned out to be a staph infection.
“I don’t know if anything changed. It was just hard. Being sued by this company. There were probably like a lot of arguments, a lot of fights that were a manifestation of me being angry. It was hard on her ’cause she was still working there, and also her neck got messed up, there was a lot going on. But obviously it made us stronger.”
During the court case, Punk’s wife was still working with WWE. While Punk quit in January 2014, AJ Lee wrestled for the company till WrestleMania 31. The former Divas Champion became an icon of the women’s division with her charisma and confidence on the microphone.

He beat Alberto del Rio for the title at Survivor Series 2011 and lost it to the Rock at the 2013 Royal Rumble. During his reign, he beat the likes of Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, John Cena, Ryback, Mark Henry, The Big Show and Daniel Bryan.
AJ Lee managed to beat the entire women’s division in a single match at WrestleMania. Her confidence made her bulletproof, and her charisma got her over with the WWE Universe. Unfortunately for her, she exited WWE just before the NXT Women’s Revolution. She is now a best-selling author, while CM Punk is a commentator for Cage Fury Fighting Championships.
