Fans often wonder why The Undertaker continues to wrestle in 2020 when his age has reached a point where he just can’t put on a decent match. In fact, every match he takes part in tarnishes his glorious legacy.
The reason surely can’t be money. He’s earned enough over the course of his illustrious career to feed his next few generations. Neither can it be the hunger for more success as he’s already considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all times.
The real reason why The Dead Man continues to rise is his commitment and devotion to his boss Vince McMahon. Working together for more than 30 years now, the two men have stood by each other for almost three eras of professional wrestling.

For the better part of 30 years, Vince pushed Undertaker like a monster. Taker was also a loyal servant as he refused to jump ship to the WCW when things went awry for his parent organization. Now, Vince needs Undertaker more than the dead man needs him.
The WWE’s expansion to Saudi Arabia and the lack of popular faces in its current roster has forced the company to look towards its legends. Despite his reluctance to come back, there’s one man that The Undertaker can’t say no to. That’s his boss and dear friend Vince McMahon.
“He always has an answer for everything”- The Undertaker on Vince McMahon
The Undertaker is currently shooting a documentary series for the WWE Network called “The Last Ride“. It documents his rise in the WWE as well as a behind the scenes look into the man behind the success.
Recently, Vince McMahon broke down into tears when asked to describe his relationship with The Undertaker. This is how The Dead Man responded –
“With Vince our relationship has far exceeded the boss-employee relationship. I still work for him, but he is a guy who is on the shortlist of those I consider dear friends. It was a little emotional for me to watch him not be able to put into words our relationship because he always has an answer for everything.
“To see him not able to answer the question, it was emotional for me to watch that. I’m not an overly emotional person, but it’s nice to know people have such strong feelings for you when you know how you feel about them. It was a strong moment seeing Vince like that for sure.”

The past two-three decades of professional wrestling have made us believe that Vince McMahon can’t have friends. His on-screen persona added to the backstage rumours around him create the image of a man who’s cold blooded and will push you down the ditch if it is good for business.
However, testimonies like this expose the human side of him. You can’t run a successful organization for so much time without gaining the utmost trust and loyalty of your employees. Wrestlers like The Rock, John Cena and Shawn Michaels continue to come back because of what they owe to Vince McMahon.
