AJ Styles has competed against some WWE legends during his WWE career so far. He is not only The Undertaker’s last opponent but also the second last opponent of Kurt Angle’s professional wrestling career.
Angle’s last match took place at WrestleMania 35 against Happy Corbin (previously known as Baron Corbin).
But prior to that, the WWE legend took on ‘The Phenomenal One’ during an episode of WWE SmackDown.

Kurt Angle and AJ Styles have crossed paths inside the squared circle previously in TNA (now known as Impact Wrestling). They together delivered some great matches for the audience to enjoy in TNA.
But this WWE match of theirs not only disappointed the fans but also Kurt Angle.
During an episode of The Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle talked about this match. He called this match ‘embarrassing’ for a reason.
He said, “I requested this match to Vince McMahon. AJ and I went out there. It was three minutes, and we kicked ass for three minutes. But there was no finish and it just kind of sucked.”

“Unfortunately for AJ and I, it wasn’t the finish we wanted. This match was so embarrassing. It showed no traces of the real Kurt Angle. It was like the old beat up Kurt Angle with the quad injury, no finish, it was just horrible,” Angle added.
Kurt Angle and Styles have faced each other in some classic matches in Impact Wrestling (formerly known as TNA).
Thus, he wanted a proper ending to this rivalry before he officially retired from the in-ring competition at WWE WrestleMania 35.

The match ended after AJ Styles’ WrestleMania 35 opponent, Randy Orton, came from behind to hit an RKO to ‘The Phenomenal One’.

Later, Angle took revenge on ‘The Viper’ for spoiling one of his farewell matches in this manner.
Kurt Angle stood tall in the ring after hitting an Angle Slam on Orton. But at WrestleMania 35, he lost to Baron Corbin while AJ Styles defeated Randy Orton.
