Two-time WWE Hall of Famer, Hulk Hogan is still considered an integral part of the pro-wrestling industry. The WWE put up Hogan as the face of the wrestling industry in the early 90s. However, fast forward three decades later, Roman Reigns is slowly replacing Hogan’s legacy in wrestling.

‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns is the longest-reigning Universal Champion of all time. Reigns is set to match another record set by Hogan back in the day.

In the upcoming WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns will be the first World Champion in WWE to compete at two consecutive WrestleMania events with the same title. At WrestleMania 37, Roman walked in with the Universal Championship and walked out as the champion.

This feat was achieved by none other than Hulk Hogan back when he was WWE Champion. Hogan walked in at WrestleMania 1 as the champion and was still the WWE champion while walking for his match against Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III.

Roman Reigns is nearing Hulk Hogan

The Head of the Table has already headlined five WrestleManias and is already on his way to headline the sixth WrestleMania. Similarly, Hogan headlined seven WrestleMania matches. However, Reigns is still 36-years-old and has quite a lot of years left in him.

One can positively be assured that Reigns will beat this particular record of Hogan as well.

Roman Reigns’ current reign of over 540 days as the Universal Champion has already surpassed Hogan’s record-breaking WCW Championship reigns. On two occasions, the Hulkster did an excellent job with the WCW Championship.

Hulk Hogan defeated Ric Flair and became the WCW World Heavyweight Champion for the first time in his career. The particular reign lasted for 469 days. Hogan’s second reign with the title was almost a year-long with 359 days.

However, with the looks of it, Reigns will not lose the title in the near future. Reigns’ current run as the champion also overshadows Hogan’s reign as the WWF World Heavyweight title, which ended after 364 days.

The WWE Chairman is fully invested in Roman Reigns and it looks like even if Reigns is not the champion in the future, he will still be the face of the company.
