WWE has booked a collision between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble 2021, where Reigns is putting the WWE Universal Championship title on the line. The question is – Can Kevin Owens defeat ‘The Tribal Chief’?

There’s a 99% chance that Reigns will not lose the title. However, there’s the 1% that is interesting.

If, by a stroke of luck, Owens secures the title, WWE will definitely book a second match before WrestleMania. The reason for this is that Reigns is a bigger star than Owens at the moment. Hence, it makes sense for him to defend the title at WrestleMania.

Another possible scenario would have Owens winning the title and the rivalry continuing till WrestleMania where Owens and Reigns face off again.

Regardless of how the situation pans out, there’s a greater chance that WWE will end the rivalry with Roman Reigns holding onto the title.

Roman Reigns has been dominating WWE SmackDown since his return at SummerSlam 2020. His heel turn, feud with his cousin, and union with Paul Heyman has helped him recapture the audience. In fact, Reigns’ heel turn was one of the best moves that WWE made in 2020.

Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns started feuding in December 2020. Since them, they have had several high octane clashes. However, most of those times, Owens had to fight Jey Uso first.

It came to a point where Reigns defeated Owens when Uso helped him handcuff Owens to the ring. Everyone thought this was the end.

When searching for his next challenger, Reigns schemed and put Adam Pearce in the number one contender’s match, aiding his victory in the end. This was Reigns’ way of seeking revenge because Pearce booked Owens against him.

However, as soon as Pearce signed the agreement for Royal Rumble 2021, he said he couldn’t take part because of a knee injury. Now, being a WWE official, he could pick his replacement, and he picked Owens.

There is a good chance Jey Uso will again intervene in this match to help Roman Reigns win.
