Cody Rhodes discusses his potential match with John Cena

In March, amidst an enthusiastic response from the audience, John Cena and Cody Rhodes experienced a heartfelt moment. During this period, John Cena marked his comeback to generate excitement for his impending WrestleMania bout against Austin Theory. It was later unearthed that Rhodes was requesting that Cena have a match with him in the future, to which Cena said, “I can’t promise that.”

During a recent Ask Me Anything Session on Reddit via Peacock, a fan asked Cody Rhodes if his match with John Cena was going to happen. The American Nightmare responded, saying, “I asked John if he does one more…to consider that match. If not, though, I’m blessed to have been under his learning tree and shared a ring with him in the past”

It should be noted that Rhodes and Cena have faced off against each other in the past. However, at the time, Cena was at the top while Rhodes was having a mediocre run in the WWE. Without a doubt, fans would be thrilled to see Cena wrestle a match against a new and improved Cody Rhodes.

According to Rhodes, Cena advised him to be honest with himself. He wanted Rhodes to keep doing what he was doing if he felt it was right. Another piece of advice from Cena was for Cody to “reward the noise” of the fans when they show appreciation.
