WWE Superstar and NXT Women’s Champion ‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair has been literally everywhere in pro-wrestling this past month. She had appeared on RAW to face Ruby Riott who she beat convincingly. She had recently appeared on Smackdown two weeks in a row, where she sowed the seeds of a feud with Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley. This feud culminated in a match between the two champions last Friday, in which Bayley beat ‘The Queen’.

Flair has just been booked to defend her NXT Championship in the near future. These appearances on RAW and Smackdown have been a part of the brand to brand exchange between the 3 shows, which Flair has been a part of every single time. Considering ‘The Queen’ is an excellent performer and entertainer, her presence is welcome on the depleted rosters. But there does come a point where her appearances may be more tiring than entertaining.

Is Charlotte Flair being promoted too much?

The WWE is no stranger to over-hyping or over-promoting superstars for their own misguided purposes. Roman Reigns was a victim of this unfair artificial hype, which made him more hated than loved amongst fans in the WWE. Until very recently, the fans saw him as a tool of the corporate machine. This hurt his image more than it helped, as Reigns saw historically bad fan reception on becoming a champion multiple times. The same fate may be coming for Charlotte Flair.

It is no secret that the WWE is looking for a replacement for Becky Lynch. ‘The Man’ was one of the most widely embraced female stars in WWE history. She may not return to the ring anytime in the near future. This has most definitely sent the WWE scrambling for a new female face to make the ambassador for the WWE. Although Charlotte flair is a great choice to fill those shoes, the WWE may be going too far.

Flair is also the daughter of the Nature Boy Ric Flair. Her name, heritage, and her extremely frequent appearances reek of nepotism and artificial promotion. Nothing turns fans against superstars like nepotism, and Charlotte seems to be in the midst of it. Audiences and fans may get tired of watching the Superstar 3 times a week, which would make her less likable. The WWE needs to take measures to space out her appearances, or they may lose the opportunity to put her in the shoes of Becky Lynch, and make her the new female face of the WWE.
