Sami Zayn is among one of the most popular talents in the pro-wrestling world currently. Before making it big in WWE, the Canadian grappler did his hard yards in the independent circuit. During his initial run, he worked as a masked wrestler. But Sami has come a long way from wrestling in bingo halls to headlining WWE PLEs. Last month, he had his biggest success in the Stamford-based promotion to date, when Zayn and his compatriot Kevin Owens emerged victorious against the then-tag team champions, The Usos.
Being crowned as the Undisputed Tag Team Champions in front of a packed stadium at WrestleMania 39 would surely feature as ‘the’ moment for many, but not for Zayn. The 38-year-old recently undertook an activity that he referred to as being one on the top of his list. Zayn’s confession was met with positive reactions from the fans, who congratulated the superstar on social media.

Even though Zayn is a resident of Canada, he has his roots in Syria. Sami Zayn, whose real name is Rami Sebei, is a Syrian Muslim. While his Syrian heritage barred him from wrestling in Saudi Arabia previously, for a period, due to diplomatic reasons, Zayn is set to feature in a title match against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions on May 27, where the said PLE will take place. Accordingly, all the featured superstars have reached the Middle Eastern country.
The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion took the opportunity to perform his Hajj, which at one time looked improbable due to the cut in diplomatic ties between Syria and the KSA. Zayn shared the news on social media, putting up a heartfelt caption along with images of the pilgrimage. The posts shared on Instagram and Twitter, received thousands of likes and interactions.

Meanwhile, ahead of his first WWE match in Saudi Arabia since 2014, Zayn exploited the chink in The Bloodline’s armor.
Sami Zayn cuts a brutal promo on Roman Reigns
It is no secret that apart from his wrestling abilities, Zayn also is an able speaker. He has been a part of several memorable promos in the recent past, keeping fans entertained throughout. On the May 19 episode of SmackDown, Zayn proved his promo skills again as he humiliated Roman Reigns in a brutal war of words.
After Reigns addressed the former Bloodline member as one of his regrets, Sami came up with his rebuttal. He said Reigns will not win the gold against them. He then singled out the reason- “You’re not as good as The Usos either.” The Tribal Chief was visibly rattled after Zayn’s salvo.

To make matters worse, The Usos jumped on the Tag Team Champions, irking Reigns, who berated his cousins and stormed off the ring. The Tribal Chief, however, wasn’t short on words for the former champions as a backstage segment showed him coming down hard on the twins. What did you make of Zayn fulfilling his lifelong dream? Has Sami finally gotten inside the Undisputed WWE Universal Champions’ head? We will have to wait till May 27th to find out.
