“I’m So Happy”: Dwayne Johnson Reveals Why Henry Cavill Is the Perfect Candidate for Superman Amidst New Movie Reports

Dwayne Johnson’s much hyped-film, ‘Black Adam’ is finally out in the theaters. And fans are showing their love for the film. With an audience score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has won the heart of the fans. Fans are loving the portrayal of Black Adam by Johnson, as well as the surprise cameo. (Spoilers ahead)

Black Adam was in the making for the last 15 years. And only recently, it roped in the rumors of a very surprising cameo. The rumors claimed Henry Cavill returning as Superman, in the film. Several previous films teased the return of Superman with headless cameos. However, Black Adam finally did what has been pending for a long time.

The end-credit scene of the film had Superman’s cameo. Man of Steel, returned and confronted Black Adam. Just as Black Adam was about to respond, the film cut off. Superman’s return brought joy and smiles to millions of people all around the world. And it is evident from the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

While promoting the film, Johnson spoke to Brandon Davis about the return of Superman. At one point in the segment, Dwayne Johnson claimed that there is no one other than Henry who can play Superman better.

He said, “Man, when it comes to Superman, I don’t know if there is any other person on the planet who loves and embodies the mythology, the ethos and everything of Superman than Henry. And I’m so happy it all came together.” 

Johnson further claimed how happy he was that the fans were losing their minds, and how there was a new shift in the DC Universe. He concluded with, “And, Superman is back.” The return of Superman in the DCEU can hint towards a future battle between Black Adam and Superman, where the two giants might collide against each other.

Will there be a sequel to Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam?

Both DC and Warner Bros. have not spoken about a direct sequel to Black Adam. However, from the looks of how the way the film ended, a sequel is highly expected. The film’s ending saw Henry Cavill finally making his return as the Man of Steel. After several rumors, Cavill finally picked up the cape.

Although nothing is confirmed, the conclusion of the first film set up a potential fight or team-up between these two greats. Since there has been no confirmation on the film, nothing can be said about the date as well. But it can be said, that it won’t be in 2023. The year 2023 is already packed with several upcoming DC films, and the latest Black Adam can come out won’t be before 2024-25.
