One of the most tragic moments last year was the sudden death of Jay Briscoe. One-half of the 13-time ROH tag team champions, The Briscoe Brothers. It is suffice to say that the death shocked the wrestling world. Even WWE recognized this moment and addressed it in their show. AEW even dedicated an entire episode to the passing of this great wrestling star.

While people were still grieving, everyone was also thinking about his brother. With Jay Briscoe gone, there would be no tag team as well, and getting the chemistry of tag team wrestling is extremely difficult. But this past AEW Dynamite, he appeared on TV and laid down the next steps in his career after being signed to AEW and working in ROH.

Mark, brother of Jay Briscoe, signs with AEW and wins a huge match

Mark Briscoe, the other half of The Briscoe Brothers, had a match at AEW Dynamite tonight. This was the second time that the man competed in an AEW ring, and he won both times. Later that night, AEW announced that Mark had signed with AEW and will be appearing on both ROH and AEW. Proving his worth in the tag team division, it’s time for Mark to become a singles star as well.

After his match, he talked about his future in AEW. He said, “I feel wonderful, and if my math adds up correctly, that would make me 2-0 here in AEW. 13-time, you looking at one-half of the baddest tag team in history, The Briscoe Brothers. But let’s come back to AEW, the way that I see it, I’m 2-0 and I’m smelling something. Smells like gold in here. I don’t know, just crazy enough to work.”

In AEW, there are many singles championships that Mark could go for. The prime among them is the AEW World Championship held by MJF. The segments that Mark would share with MJF would be electrifying.

Then there are the All-Atlantic Championship and TNT Championship as well, which would raise his caliber as a singles star in the company. Not to mention that he will be wrestling in ROH as well. So, it could be that he might go for the ROH World Championship or the ROH TV Championship. But whatever he ends up doing, it would end up becoming a sight worth watching.
