Lacey Evans is enjoying her time in the spotlight after a year of obscurity. She will challenge Asuka at Elimination Chamber for the Raw Women’s Championship. In fact, it will be her first title match since WrestleMania 36, and she’s hellbent on making the most out of this opportunity.

Lacey took to Twitter to remind the WWE Universe just how ready she is for Asuka. She said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I’m not insane. I’m ready.”

If Lacey is indeed ready, maybe her seventh chance at winning a title will be a successful one. Since her debut, Lacey Evans has challenged for the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships six times, eleven if you include non-televised matches.

Her matches with Becky Lynch and Bayley were decent, but her opponents severely outmatched her. Evans did not stand a chance against them, let alone a merciless striker and submission expert like Asuka for the championship. Fortunately for Evans, she has an ace up her sleeve.

With Ric Flair by her side, Lacey Evans might be a worthy opponent for the Raw Women’s Champion. Asuka’s reign has not been great, and she’s defended the title successfully against the likes of Lana and Zelin Vega. The ‘Sassy Southern Belle’ is Asuka’s first real challenge for her title.

Could Evans make it to WrestleMania as a champion?

With the current storyline involving Flair and his daughter Charlotte, Lacey Evans might be the perfect antagonist in this story. Her alliance with Ric has annoyed the Queen, and her relationship with her father is now more strained than ever.

However, Evans has benefited from this alliance with Flair, and a title opportunity is just the tip of the iceberg. Ric has said that he has a mission statement for Evans. He will not stop until she has championship in her hands or around her waist.

With Ric by her side, Lacey would be a terrific heel champion, the kind Raw desperately needs. And it also sets up a pretty decent WrestleMania match-up between the Queen and the Sassy Southern Belle.
