With all the backstage videos and social media posts regarding CM Punk and his return, one would be mistaken to think it was well-received by all. While some WWE stars have expressed their annoyance with his return, others have a different perspective. Some stars see this as a chance to challenge the best in the business and make a name for themselves.

Taking to social media, one 33-year-old rising star in the WWE has made it clear that they want to use Punk to test themselves. This means a new foe has entered Punk’s ever-expanding list.

If there is one consistent trait about Grayson Waller, it is the fact that he loves to target WWE Legends. After taking shots at John Cena, Dwayne Johnson, and even Taylor Swift, he now has a new target. This is none other than the returning CM Punk.

While the list of people who would like to take a shot at Punk for various reasons is growing, Waller has his own motives. While talking to Justin LaBar on his podcast, he asked Waller about his thoughts on the return of Punk. Being the loudmouth that he is, Waller wasted no time expressing what he felt about Punk.

Waller said, “It’s great to have punk back because obviously, he’s a big name, big star.” Off the bat, Waller was quick to acknowledge the star Punk is in the business of pro wrestling. He went on to talk about seeing Punk backstage on SmackDown. Waller said, “I don’t think anyone needs to know what that interaction was. Let’s just say we talked.”

While keeping this cryptic and only dropping tiny hints for the fans to speculate about, Waller said, “I appreciate everything he’s done for the business. But I’m not here to be a fanboy, I’m here to be a competitor.” One can draw parallels between this line and what Punk said about being here not to make friends but to make money. It is evident that Waller has the former AEW star in his sights. Suffice to say, a Punk-Waller feud could be massive for the young WWE prospect as he tries to advance the ranks in the promotion.
