The 11-time WWE world champion Edge and his wife Beth Phoenix were scheduled to face Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor in a mixed tag team match at the Elimination Chamber. 

The couple returned to WWE during the Royal Rumble 2023. Since then they have been feuding with ‘The Judgement Day’. Fans erupted in joy when WWE creatives booked Edge and Beth against Balor and Ripley for the Elimination Chamber. Much to the joy of the fans, the legendary power couple emerged victorious and gave the Montreal crowd an amazing and entertaining match.

Edge hints at continuing his run in WWE

After the event, in the press conference, Edge was asked about his retirement plans. To this, the 11-time WWE World Champion said that he still wants to get retired in his home country. However, today is not the day as he didn’t wrestle for nine years and now he is enjoying his current run in WWE with his wife.

While addressing the media, Edge stated, “I try not to make any firm decisions, but here’s what I can say about tonight. For nine years I was retired. I come back and I get to team with my wife, who I married….While I was retired and had two beautiful little girls with. The fact that we get to do this at all, I never thought this would happen. We’re out there, and if it looks like we’re having, it’s because we are, we’re having a blast.”

Edge stated that he and Beth were nervous before the Elimination Chamber

He even mentioned that they both were quite under pressure for the Elimination Chamber match and were afraid to disappoint the fans. But, everything went well and now he is not thinking about his departure.

“I get to stand shoulder to shoulder with this woman. We get to hit a shatter machine, which we have never even attempted before, and pulled off. She hasn’t wrestled a match in a year and one month. Hops in there tonight in that kind of pressure cooker against two talents like that, and man, I’m just static. I’m not really thinking about what I’m having for breakfast tomorrow, let alone what I’m going to do five, six, seven, eight months from now. I will say, I would like it to be in Canada,”

In 2022, ‘The Master Manipulator’ commented that he would retire in August 2023 in front of his home crowd. However, it doesn’t seem to happen anytime sooner as Edge is clearly enjoying his time performing inside the squared circle.
