The feud between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair has been making headlines left and right. Since her win at the Royal Rumble, we didn’t see Ripley interact with Flair until last week’s SmackDown. In the ring, the Judgement Day member called out Flair for her reliance on having the title across her shoulder.
While we all know that Charlotte, just like her father, is hoping to be the most celebrated wrestler in the company. At any given time, history proves that the 14-time women’s champion has held onto a title or the other. No woman is even close to her. Even legends have only held half the championships that she holds at the moment. But could this be her weakness as well?

Appearing on The Bump, Kayla Braxton didn’t waste any time and brought up the recent SmackDown segment between Ripley and Flair. In the segment, Ripley warns Flair that she is going to take away the only thing that makes Flair important. Braxton asks Ripley, “Would you say your comments were meant to expose her reliance on needing a title to be happy?”

Ripley said that her goal is to get inside Flair’s head. She said that she agrees that Flair puts in the work for her title victories. But that has led to a reliance on these titles around her waist. That’s where her master plan stems from.
She adds, “But I’m gonna use that against her at the same time. Because I feel like Charlotte doesn’t know who she is without the championship and once I take it from her at WrestleMania, she is going to be a shell of her former self and I can’t wait to see that.” Only time will tell if Ripley is able to take that title from Flair, but their history spells something else.
The WrestleMania history between Ripley and Flair in 2020
Just three years ago, the two former Raw Women’s Champions went toe-to-toe for the NXT Championship and Flair came out on top. Keeping that in hindsight, Ripley has already talked about the drastic change from then to now. She said in that interview that Flair was taking Ripley for granted. Just because Flair won once, doesn’t mean that she can win again.

But apart from that, fans have seemingly forgotten about their feud during the Thunderdome era. Fighting for the Raw Women’s Championship, the two had a series of matches. Even Nikki A.S.H. got mixed up between the two due to her Money in the Bank briefcase. Even at that time, Flair came out on top. But this time, Ripley isn’t alone and isn’t a rookie on the main roster.
