“I’m Getting a Dead Stare”: 7ft Tall WWE Giant Was Once Abandoned by Others For Trying to Imitate Hulk Hogan During a Plane Ride

While there is no bigger wrestler who changed wrestling more than Hulk Hogan, the Hulkster also has his flaws as a performer. Like many actors and actresses in Hollywood, Hogan is not the best person to work with. This is not just the view of one wrestler, but a consensus of many wrestlers and bookers in the industry. But reflecting on his past and keeping his future in mind, Hogan is doing better with the people in the industry.

While the old Hogan would definitely try to bury a newbie wrestler in the industry, the new Hogan occasionally helps such wrestlers. This doesn’t only show his compassion toward the new generation, but also his willingness to see the industry develop. While talking about a mistake that he made in WCW on Sports Talk 790AM, the Big Show mentioned, “I used to do an impersonation of Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage in a romantic relationship. I do the impersonations and Brian says, ‘oh, you’ve got to do that for Hulk and Randy, man. They’ll love it!’ So I was like, ‘really?’. He goes, ‘dude, just do it on the plane tonight. They’ll like it.’“

“So we’re sitting on the plane. It’s a small plane, so there’s Hulk, there’s Randy, there’s Brian, there’s me, and we’re sitting real close in front of each other and Brian looks at me. And I’m a dumbass rookie, so what do I do?” Then Show continued to do the imitation of both the legends sitting across from him. “And then I stopped.”

“I had a big grin on my face, and, I mean, I’m getting a dead stare from Hulk [and] a dead stare from Randy. Brian looks at me and goes, ‘oh, I can’t believe you did that’. Completely through me under the bus!“

After that altercation, Show always had to take a commercial flight to get home for about 2 months. But he couldn’t do anything about it at all. Both Hogan and Show were vital members of the WCW roster during its highest peaks, so this is a rare moment happening between two regular performers.
