Vince McMahon has had weird encounters with his former employees during his time as the CEO of WWE. Over the years as many stars left the promotion, they kept on revealing details about him that the world didn’t already know. Recently, former WWE star Matt Morgan appeared on a podcast and talked about his conversations with McMahon during his early days as a wrestler.

While Morgan didn’t necessarily antagonize him, he exposed the tips that the ex-owner of WWE gave him. Morgan didn’t find these tips helpful, as McMahon hadn’t explained himself well enough. Instead, whatever people suggested to him at the beginning of his career ended up confusing him even more.

It has been a long-running stereotype in pro wrestling that giant wrestlers are supposed to be less intelligent. Viewers also expect them to talk a certain way. However, when Morgan was beginning his journey with WWE, he was a bit different. He didn’t change his voice, way of talking, or vocabulary. Paul Heyman even told him, “Look, there’s nothing wrong with you being an educated giant. We’ve never had that.” However, McMahon thought much differently.

McMahon had told him, “Guys that look like you don’t say the words you use in your vernacular.” To this, the rookie Morgan was left confused. He recalled his confused state in the podcast Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw and said, “In my head, I’m like, what do you want me to do? This is how I talk. What am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to dummy myself down on purpose and walk around, fee-fi-fo-fum, I’m big, fat, slow. That’s played out, that’s been done.

While Morgan didn’t blame McMahon for anything, we could connect the dots for ourselves and see how the former CEO’s interference is what caused his ultimate departure from the Stamford-based company. Morgan was also later saddled with a stuttering gimmick that failed to get him over.

Morgan had a promising career when he arrived at the OVW for the first time. After his training, he was sent to WWE to become the ‘next big thing’ after Brock Lesnar. However, due to him being still green, Morgan had to go back to OVW to hone his skills. Upon returning to the main roster, he had already become ‘The Blueprint’, sporting a black goatee. McMahon had then given him a ‘stuttering gimmick’ and things eventually went downhill for him.

Constant decisions of not letting him in the limelight led to Morgan’s downfall in the promotion. Ultimately, after a brief run in the company, the 47-year-old left to restart his pro wrestling journey in TNA, where he had a relatively successful run.
