WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix shared a major throwback to her husband and fellow Hall of Famer Edge. The throwback was from the last live WrestleMania of Edge’s career.

Edge will return to a live WrestleMania crowd after a decade. As the winner of Royal Rumble 2021, he will take on Universal Champion Roman Reigns and challenger Daniel Bryan in a triple threat match. “The Rated-R Superstar” recently turned heel at the Fastlane PPV.

Phoenix’s throwback was a video from the time when Edge, then-World Heavyweight Champion, entered the arena. He was going to face challenger, Alberto Del Rio.

He won the match, but it was his last televised match before his return at Royal Rumble 2020. Edge retired the following week on RAW due to a neck injury.

Phoenix wrote, “Ten years ago today I was standing beside Pat Patterson just us two in the gorilla position to watch #WrestleMania, @EdgeRatedR’s music hit and he blew by me out of nowhere like a dragon breathing fire. I’ll never forget that moment.”

Edge will return to a live audience at WrestleMania after 10 years. This year, WrestleMania will take place at Raymond James Stadium over two days. It will feature 25,000 people each night.

Beth Phoenix recalls her inspirations in wrestling

A Hall of Famer herself, Phoenix is an icon in her own right. Despite citing Edge as one of her inspirations and motivators, she also talked about the woman who inspired her.

She cited WWE legend, Chyna, as her main inspiration. “I’d seen female bodybuilders before, but Chyna was more than that. She was an athlete. She had that star power alongside all the men. It was just a lightbulb for me, and I was inspired like hell by Chyna.”

“Anytime Chyna had a feature anywhere, I was scooping up fitness magazines to unlock those secrets of ‘how did she get that strength?,” Phoenix stated. “How did she get that body?’ I want to be like that. So in my own mind, in my own journey of how I’m going to make it to WWE, I said, ‘I got to start with the wrestling team.”

“What was really special was, I won the WWE Women’s Championship when I stopped trying to be the next Trish and I started being the first me.”

She paid homage to her heroes Phoenix, Trish Stratus, and Molly Holly with her outfit during her first Women’s title win.
