While CM Punk has made waves within the wrestling world since his return to the WWE, not everyone is happy about it. Despite the WWE pushing that everyone is happy to see Punk, a few are vocal about their disappointment in the WWE hiring him back. After signing onto Monday Night RAW, one former WWE Champion has predicted what will happen to the ‘Best in the World’ if the two ever cross paths.

The last episode of Monday Night RAW featured a monumental moment when Punk finally signed on to the red brand as his new home. However, this did not please every superstar who is part of the RAW roster.

Even before CM Punk returned to the WWE, Drew McIntyre had been voicing his issues with his co-stars on RAW. From Jey Uso to Seth Rollins to Sami Zayn, no one has been spared by the Scottish lone warrior. With Punk signing on to RAW, McIntyre found another person to complain about.

While on the WWE’s The Bump, Dec. 13, 2023, episode, McIntyre was asked about how he feels now that the former WWE champion is on RAW. Prior to Punk signing the contract, McIntyre made it clear he did not care but had a negative opinion about him. Finally, getting a chance to speak his mind, McIntyre had much to say.

The Scotsman began by saying, “I was around the person, I know the person, I know what he’s truly like.” This reflects what he said on RAW about traveling with Punk and knowing him better than others. McIntyre went on to say that he knew why the WWE hired him back from a business point-of-view as Punk brings in the numbers.

However, while concluding, the Scotsman said, “And in the future, if we cross paths, I ain’t the same guy I was in 2010. I’m a lot bigger, stronger, smarter, and more experienced, and I’ll drop his a**e.” This is a clear warning after their little run-in during a backstage segment on RAW. Despite claiming not to care, McIntyre is ready to beat Punk. But how could a potential McIntyre-Punk feud transpire?

The potential avenue en route to a McIntyre vs Punk feud

While Drew McIntyre has made it clear that he will demolish anyone who gets in his way, he also made it clear what he’s after the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This places a target on Seth Rollins, who holds the title.

After signing with RAW, Rollins made his way to the ring to confront Punk. This has led to a triple-threat situation where both Punk and McIntyre want a shot at the title. This could result in the two squaring off to see who the #1 contender could be.
