‘The Champ’ John Cena made his triumphant return at the MITB PPV last month, where he confronted the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. After weeks of verbal banter, the two titans of WWE collided at the biggest party of the summer at SummerSlam last Saturday.
Cena says goodbye to the WWE Universe, for now
John Cena went in tothe match hoping to become the World Champion for the 17th time, dethroning Ric Flair. However, ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns had other plans, who stopped Cena and dealt him a crushing defeat.

Following his loss against Reigns, Cena took to Twitter and wrote an emotional message. He thanked the WWE Universe, especially the fans in attendance, and said that it felt like ‘home’ performing at SummerSlam.
However, Cena ends the message on a positive note by saying that he is going away for now but he’ll see return soon.
“Words cannot describe how appreciative I am that the @WWEUniverse allowed me the opportunity to return and perform. Thank you staff, superstars, and most of all FANS for giving me an unforgettable summer at “home” with my “family”. The journey takes me away now but I’ll C U soon.” Cena wrote.

What is next for John Cena?
Now, everyone knows Cena has a bunch of movies project lined up, with his latest film ‘Vacation Friends’ which will release on August 27, with American viewers able to catch the film on Hulu.

With this newfound success in the show business, it is really hard for Cena to maintain the balance between acting and wrestling. Nonetheless, hardcore Cena fans will still cling to the phrase “I’ll C U soon” from his message.
