Hulk Hogan’s run at the top of the pro wrestling mountain is marked with numerous championships, epic moments and marquee matches. But what has also shadowed his otherwise glittering career is how at times the Hulkster rubbed people the wrong way.
He had drawn out protracted feuds with the likes of the late Ultimate Warrior and Bret Hart beyond the ring. Some people have accused him of backstage politics while others have said he isn’t the guy he portrays to be. A WWE legend once also expressed his feelings towards the Hulkster and didn’t hold back.
A lot of wrestlers have different things to say about Hogan. In 2010, the late Matt Borne, the man behind the iconic Doink the Clown character, said he didn’t respect Hogan and shared his reasons.

Borne said he didn’t care about Hulk Hogan
As famous as Hulk Hogan was during his prime in the wrestling industry, he also gained notoriety for some of his actions. Many wrestlers have expressed their dislike of Hogan using his influence to keep his spot and favoring those close to him when it came to booking decisions.
Matt Borne, who famously portrayed the original Doink the Clown, was one of those guys who wasn’t exactly a Hulkamaniac. Borne made his WWE debut as the evil Doink the Clown in 1992 and stayed with the promotion for a year. Although his run was short, it made for a memorable stint.
In 2010, Borne sat down with the Boston Wrestling website to conduct a almost three-hour Shoot Studio Interview DVD. During the interview, he talked about his pro wrestling career and gave his opinions on various wrestlers, including Hulk Hogan.

Borne said he didn’t respect Hogan because he thought the Immortal One put up a front and wasn’t the person who he portrayed to be. He said, “I remember that I didn’t give a sh*t about Hogan. I didn’t care; you know. I just do not have any respect for him to this day.[…].I believe he’s not a real person, I think everything’s a facade with Hulk Hogan.”

Borne, who passed away in 2013, also mentioned Hogan used his power to help out his friends and those who warmed up to him. He added, “He’ll get you booked when he gets the power. If you kiss his butt like a lot of guys or you’re his buddy he’ll get you booked. Sad but true I believe.”

Borne’s comments about Hogan were not kind and it’s clear he wasn’t fond of the WWE and WCW legend.
