The road to this year’s WrestleMania has begun. And it will be headlined by ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes after his splendid win in the Men’s Royal Rumble match. But there is doubt over his opponent for the clash, particularly with Sami Zayn challenging for the WWE Undisputed Universal title against Roman Reigns at the upcoming Elimination Chamber. There is a real possibility that Rhodes may end up facing the Canadian.

The former Intercontinental Champion opened up the subject in the latest interaction on ‘The MMA Hour With Ariel Helwani’. He discussed how his late father Dusty would have reacted to him possibly facing Zayn at the marquee event.

The second-generation wrestler said, “If it’s Sami Zayn {at WrestleMania 39} vs me in Hollywood just the idea of all this I think my dad would be stunned by it.  He added, And the big secret, which is not a secret cause I have said it in every interview I feel bad is when you’re a second generation or third generation whatever you do wanna be like them sure. But you wanna be better than them“. Needless to say that many people would also be shocked if it does turn out to be Rhodes vs Zayn at ‘Mania.

The two came face to face on the latest edition of RAW. The superstars delivered an excellent promo furthering intrigue into the ongoing storyline. During the segment, the former AEW star backed Zayn to win this Saturday but is ready for any eventuality.
