John Cena, to date, receives one of the biggest pops in the WWE every time he enters the arena. Fans love The GOAT for the endless entertainment he has provided over the last 20+ years. They love him for his charisma, his positive attitude and, most of all, his confidence. But all these qualities have grown over time. And now Cena actually wishes he had the confidence of a certain younger superstar when he started out.

This superstar has been mocking Cena ever since he made his return to the WWE.

John Cena wishes he had his ‘swagger’

John Cena made his debut in 2002 when Kurt Angle invited anyone from the locker room to challenge him. Little did Angle know that this moment would go down as one of the biggest in WWE history as Cena took up his challenge. Ironically, back then, Angle asked Cena, “Who in the hell are you?”. Now if this question was asked now in 2023, the whole arena would answer in unison. But at that time there was pin-drop silence.

Cena then went on to tell Angle that he had ruthless aggression and slapped him in the face. Sadly, Cena lost that night but fans will always cherish his debut. And now, almost 20 years later, Cena admits that he actually lacked that ruthless aggression he claimed. So much so that he wishes he had the confidence of his current arch-nemesis, Grayson Waller, who is known for constantly putting him down.

While appearing on WWE’s The Bump, Cena praised Waller for his confidence on camera and wished he had the same when he made his debut. He said, “I like to see somebody coming with confidence, looking back at my existence, I wish I had more confidence, I wish I had Grayson Waller swagger back in 2002 when I slapped Kurt Angle, instead I timidly shook The Undertaker’s hand when I should have slapped him too. But like I didn’t have that ruthless aggression. He’s got it and I admire that”.

Cena also said that Waller has a lot to learn but he will understand all in due time. He added, “But he will find all that stuff out. He’s got the first ingredient. He believes in who he is”.

But while John Cena wishes he had Waller’s swagger, another champion from AEW doesn’t like being compared to him at all.

MJF hates being compared to Grayson Waller

MJF might be going all gaga over Cody Rhodes and LA Knight, but he hates being compared to Waller. Pro wrestling fans of late have been comparing Grayson Waller to MJF, and that has made him furious.

During his recent interview with WrestlePurists, MJF expressed that he actually feels bad for Waller. MJF cleared it out that he doesn’t wear basketball shorts while wrestling and neither does he have an accent.

He even went to the extent of saying, “Am I 6’2? No!”. So while Waller is being admired for his confidence, someone from the other side of the wrestling fence purely hates him.
