With The Rock being at the peak of his popularity and proving to be a success in whatever he does, he once threw his hat in the ring for a potential U.S Presidential campaign.

This became a hot topic a few years back and was part of many discussions. In 2017, when The Brahma Bull sat down with his Jumanji co-star on the Graham Norton Show, it was brought up once again. The Rock said while the response from the people flattered him there was a problem.
He then pointed out to his co-star and close friend Kevin Hart said that he would stop him from running for presented. DJ mentioned Hart will sabotage his campaign.
Why Hart wanted to stop Dwayne Johnson from running for President
Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart are the closest of friends and are often seen in the media ribbing each other. Fans of both stars know that they give one another a tough time, which makes for some hilarious interactions. In 2016, as the clamor among the fans around The Rock being the next President rose, the Great One himself acknowledged it.
The former WWE Champion said he wouldn’t rule out running in the next elections. Moreover, he even retweeted an article that suggested why he should run for President.

In 2017, Johnson and his co-stars from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle appeared on the Graham Norton Show. During the conversation, Norton brought up the subject of The Rock potentially running for President. The Hollywood star said it was flattering that public opinion in that regard had seen an uptick, but there was a problem.
Pointing to Hart, DJ said, “The problem is this guy (Kevin Hart) to my right will completely campaign sabotage the campaign in 2020, 2024. He will literally sabotage from the inside.”
The $450 million worth Hart agreed and hilariously gave the reason for this. “100%, I will take you down. I don’t want it to happen because it will make you that much better than me and I just don’t want it. I would sabotage it in a heartbeat.” This was yet another example of Kevin Hart and The Rock going at it.

However, his other co-stars sided with The Rock. Jessica Chastain and Rebel Wilson pledged their support to The Black Adam actor if he wanted to go down that path.

The People’s Champion has dallied with the idea of running for President and even said he won’t consider it due to family obligations. But in an interview with CNN, DJ left the door open for a possible crack at becoming the next U.S President.
