Nia Jax’s shocking, sensational comeback to the Stamford-based company on the latest episode of Raw made a huge stir in the fold. During the closing segment of Raw, the Australian-born wrestler inserted herself into the women’s world title fight, attacking Raquel Rodriguez during a nail-biting main-event match. This was just moments before butting heads with her opponent, Rhea Ripley. With this, she let the entire WWE world know that The Irresistible Force is back in action.

Jax received mixed-up reactions from fans. Some wholeheartedly seem to be on cloud nine, seeing her regaining her mojo after a two-year gap. But some questioned the very credibility of her rapid push.

Jax’s return received mixed reactions from fans both during her return as well as after the news had spread throughout the wrestling world. Most notably, fans were unsure of her return due to Jax’s notoriety for seriously injuring her opponents.

The most common notion about Nia Jax is her unsafe way of fighting in the ring. Veterans often undermine her talent under the shade of her knack for injuring wrestlers with her dangerous antics. One of the biggest instances of this goes back to 2020 when former WWE star Kairi Sane’s head was left busted open by Jax.

It turned out so serious that the match had to come to an abrupt end, leaving Jax in hot water. Referring to that infamous incident, fans bashed WWE’s decision to bring her back. However, the backlash triggered Kairi’s former tag team partner, SmackDown star Asuka, to counter the criticism.

The SmackDown star stung back at the critics, saying, ”That question was rude and bullying. You’re hurting her heart with this question. Are you really a person with a heart? If someone who has not been directly harmed by her denies her, I will fight the society for her. If I am criticized for it, I don’t care 🫵🤮”

WWE seems to side with Asuka on the matter, as they’ve turned a blind eye to the critiques that Jax has been facing. While Jax’s return had lukewarm reactions, WWE seems to have big plans brewing for the heel.

A backstage update on WWE’s plan for Jax

After seven years under WWE, Jax had to depart from the company in 2021. She, however, made a surprise cameo appearance at Royal Rumble this year. Immediately after returning, the former Raw Women’s Champion has already begun eyeing the big prize.

It seems as though WWE has big plans for her role in the promotion. According to one backstage report, Jax has been elevated to the position of the #2 heel on the women’s division of the official RAW roster. The update is particularly surprising as she has overtaken Trish Stratus and Zoey Stark.

Now, the only person standing in her way as the ultimate monster heel in the women’s division is Rhea Ripley. With Ripley’s popularity as a heel and Jax’s lukewarm reception, it remains to be seen how WWE will handle her in the future.
