WWE universe witnessed one of the most gruesome matches between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio at Extreme Rules. The stipulation was “eye for an eye” and the only way to win was pulling out your opponent’s eyeball from the socket.
The entire fan-base along with others in WWE were rather curious about how the company will manage to pull off the visual effects. However, the company said that one of them needs to actually pull the eye from the socket to win.
The match came to its end with Seth Rollins managing to bring Rey Mysterio’s eyeball out of the socket. Throughout the match, both of them used everything possible to pull out the other’s eye.

Finally, Rollins shoved Mysterio’s head eye-first into the steel steps. Even Mysterio had attempted the same with Rollins but was unsuccessful.
Even after doing this, The Monday Night Messiah went ahead to attack him. It’s at this point when he realized that Mysterio was holding his eye. This had an impact on Rollins and he ended up vomiting.
Seth Rollins talks about his match against Rey Mysterio at Extreme Rules
Seth Rollins opened up about how he felt when he saw Mysterio holding his eye-ball at WWE Raw Talk. According to him, he did not prepare himself for the outcome of the match.
“I wasn’t prepared for the visual aspect and it truly made me sick to my stomach. However, I had to win, which is my job to do at all costs.”
Rey Mysterio was provided with medical help almost immediately, but to be fair, to a certain extent he brought this upon himself. While yes, Seth Rollins asked Mysterio to pick the stipulation, there were many others that Mysterio could have selected.
If anyone in WWE wants to blame a Superstar for Mysterio’s condition, then it should be Mysterio who should take the blame.
