“I Was the Biggest Source of Their Stress”: Dwayne Johnson Once Put His Parents to Shame Just One Day After His Emotional Breakdown

Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouth, and people often have to struggle a lot before making it to the top. Dwayne Johnson is one living example of it. Johnson did not have a privileged childhood and had to suffer and struggle a lot before becoming successful.

He tried his hands at different career lines before one struck and took him to where he is now. His first choice had been football, but he never struck a chord there. And it was then pro wrestling that helped establish himself as a made man.

Growing up, Johnson had to face a lot of struggles. He always did not have his father around with him, since most of the time he would be on the road, traveling because of work. And he and his mother would live together. Due to lack of money, they would also get evicted from their houses.

However, before him becoming successful, he was deemed a troubled kid. According to Dwayne Johnson himself, he brought a lot of shame to his parents and was the biggest source of their stress. When Johnson was in high school, he was already 6’4″, and an arrogant version of himself.

He revealed, “I was arrested multiple times for a multitude of things, from fighting to a theft ring to check fraud to more fighting. I did a lot of stupid s**t and struggled to stay on the right path.” He continued how he had an emotional breakdown when he got arrested and his parents had to visit the police station to pick him up.

Johnson claimed, “My parents came down to the police station and picked me up, and I recognized that despite the fact that we were living paycheck to paycheck, I was the biggest source of their stress.”

And it was then that Johnson decided to stop getting arrested and disappoint his parents again. However, something of a similar sort happened the very next day.

The Rock was not always the ideal child. He was getting into trouble, arrested, and even expelled from his school. However, there was one particular moment when he brought a lot of shame to his parents.

The very next day, Dwayne Johnson would get into a school fight and knock a kid out. He would be expelled for his actions. However, Johnson would steadily realize the outcome of his actions and changed his life forever.
