Cody Rhodes is one of the most over pro wrestlers in WWE today. Hailing from the legendary Rhodes wrestling family, Cody Rhodes has come a long way. After a not-so-successful initial career at WWE, the 37-year-old would leave the promotion in 2016.
After leaving WWE, he would try his luck in the indie circuit and make it big there. In 2019, Rhodes co-founded and started AEW. Here, at AEW Rhodes would influence and bring in several major top independent wrestlers, and other backstage workers, including wrestling fashion designer, and seamstress Sandra Gray.

Gray is a pro wrestling seamstress, while a former employee for WWE, she currently works for AEW, after Rhodes introduced her to the company. Recently during a podcast, Sandra Gray would reveal how much proud she is of Cody Rhodes headlining WrestleMania 39.
She would further speak on what influenced Cody Rhodes to leave AEW for WWE. Gray and Rhodes share a special relationship, where Gray addressed Rhodes as a son to her during the podcast. However, as Rhodes made his way into WWE, Gray was left heartbroken.
What was Sandra Gray’s reaction to hearing Cody Rhodes leaving AEW for WWE?
Cody Rhodes would make his comeback for WWE after nearly a span of six years at WrestleMania 38. In early February speculations rose of Rhodes not extending his contract with AEW. And the rumors were claimed true when Rhodes made his return at Mania.
Speaking on the podcast Gray claimed that Rhodes must have thought about it a lot before making the move. However, as she heard the news Gray was left heartbroken. She said, “the day that he left, I found out about it and I was on my way somewhere in the airport and it literally made me cry. I was so upset and heartbroken at the fact that he wouldn’t be there anymore.”
Sbe further claimed how The American Nightmare is like a son to her, and the moment when she found out about his departure she broke down and started crying in public. Gray would also show her gratitude toward Rhodes for bringing her into the company.
How did Sanda Gray show her gratitude toward Cody Rhodes?
It was Cody Rhodes who introduced the iconic wrestling fashion designer in WWE. Recently speaking, she revealed how much grateful she is to Rhodes. Gray said, “he brought me to AEW was a really big deal because he didn’t hesitate. He was like, ‘This is gonna be your department ‘. And that was it really made me feel so good and I was so proud for you know doing that getting that opportunity.”

However, what caught the fan’s attention was when Gray revealed how she might be the one making Rhodes’ attire for his WrestleMania 39 match against Roman Reigns when she said, “it is my esteemed privilege to be making sure that he looks damn good every step of the way coming down that ramp. “
