WWE’s booking sometimes can baffle fans. Stars working hard and earning the appreciation of fans are overlooked and their momentum is halted with start-stop booking from the creative. One WWE superstar who knows this all too well is Sheamus. After a hot run in the last year led nowhere for the Celtic Warrior, he expressed his frustration with his positioning in the company.

Sheamus unleashes frustration – “I Was Ready to Win!”

Sheamus carried a wave of fanfare and momentum when he as part of Brawling Brutes started shining on SmackDown. This led to a thunderous Intercontinental title match against GUNTHER at Clash at the Castle, in which he came up short but was still over with the fans. However, he floundered for a long time before WrestleMania season arrived.

Again he was booked in a Triple Threat match with GUNTHER putting his prized title on the line against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus at WrestleMania 39. While GUNTHER retained the title and McIntyre went on a hiatus, Sheamus was again left with little to do, killing his momentum.

In a candid statement, Sheamus slammed WWE for squandering his momentum, expressing his eagerness to continue his push and maybe have a long-term storyline.

In an interview with Dailystar, he said- “I came out of that (Clash At The Castle) with so much organic momentum, & it was just wasted. It didn’t go anywhere. It was a dead end, just like with WrestleMania. Drew went away because he was injured, but I was ready to go & then just nothing.”

With McIntyre out of the picture, WWE had the chance to push Sheamus as a serious contender for GUNTHER’s title or have a serious feud with anyone else on the roster, but nothing transpired. What will irk Sheamus more probably is that WWE planted McIntyre in a feud with GUNTHER on his return to WWE last month.
