Money in the Bank is around the corner, and this time it will be live from London. Over the years, we have seen several stars winning the briefcase and making history by cashing it in. However, in 2019, Brock Lesnar won the briefcase by entering the match replacing Sami Zayn. This left a WWE star in shock as he thought he was going to win the match prior to Vince McMahon changing his mind.

This 37-year-old star was concerned about his paycheck and hence he did what the boss asked him to in the match. The win in this match would be a huge one for this superstar if McMahon didn’t change plans last minute.

A couple of years ago, in August 2021, Mustafa Ali appeared for an interview with talkSPORT. He shared details of Money in the Bank 2019 which Brock Lesnar won. Initially, Ali thought he was going to win the entire match and fulfill his dream. But that wasn’t the case.

Ali said, “I’m soon to be making my entrance, and that’s when I get pulled that I have to go see the boss. [Vince says] ‘This is what I want. Grab the briefcase. Shock. Then you’re frozen. This is what I want.’ And you have to realise, right before you’re about to go out through the curtain is not the time to argue.”

The former Retribution leader added, “You’re getting a direct order about what is to be expected of you. I know some people say ‘why didn’t you just grab the briefcase!’ [laughs]. I was more concerned with grabbing my check that week! So I grabbed my check.”

The former 205 Live superstar recalled WWE telling them about being in the match. The outcome wasn’t told to the participants. Nevertheless, Ali doesn’t blame anyone as he said “OK, not a problem boss,” and did the job Mr. McMahon told him to do.

Furthermore, the 37-year-old believes it happened for the best as fans still remember the moment. Hence, The Beast Incarnate taking the briefcase home that night was a successful thing. Moreover, Lesar cashed in the contract on Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules in July 2019.

The Visionary had defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 for the Universal Championship. The Conqueror took a break from WWE and returned to Money in the Bank the same year and won it. Lesnar wanted to give Rollins a taste of his own medicine for the events that happened at WrestleMania 31.

In 2015, The Beast faced Roman Reigns for the WWE title in the main event of WrestleMania 31. However, Seth Rollins cashed in when the match was about to end and won the title. Thus, four years later Lesnar did the same to The Architect after his mixed tag team match with Lacey Evans and Baron Corbin and his partner was Becky Lynch.
