John Cena gave almost two decades to the world of pro wrestling. Very few names come close to him when it comes to achieving the same feats as his in WWE. The 16-time World Champion has become a household name in the modern-day wrestling era, even though he rarely makes appearances inside the square circle anymore.
However, the name and fame are a product of pure accident. Cena, in a recent interview, confessed that it was never meant to happen. That it all happened by “mistake.” But thank God! It happened, right?

While speaking with Whiskey Ginger w/ Andrew Santino 231, The Cenation Leader mentioned that he initially wanted to join the Marine Corps and not WWE. But his fate had other plans for him and thus he ended up being one of the top names in the Stamford-based company.
He said, “Originally I started to wrestle by mistake. I was going to join the Marine Corps. And a friend of mine was like, we are training down in Orange County. You should give it a weekend before you go down there. I was like, yeah, whatever I will do it, saw a ring and I was hooked.”
He also mentioned that he had no desire to join the pro wrestling industry during that time. However, he saw an opportunity, so he grabbed it and that moment forever changed his life.
Though his life turned out to be great years later, the starting days of his pro wrestling journey were filled with hurdles as he lacked passion for wrestling.
