WWE has often been accused of making Superstars feel that their efforts mean nothing unless Vince McMahon approves of it. One such Superstar who came forward with his statement is EC3.

First, to know EC3, you need to know that he was one of the most underrated wrestlers of the company. He returned to the company as a part of NXT in 2018. Next, he was on the main roster within a year. Unfortunately, the creative team immediately lost interest in him. This led to him being off television very fast.

During a session with WrestleTalk, EC3 revealed how he kept putting in efforts that did not yield any results. Therefore, he did have quite strong and relieved feelings when he was released by WWE.

EC3 reveals how he felt leaving WWE

According to EC3, even when he made it to the main roster, he was not very happy. It was important to him that he was able to express himself and create his own space.

Even though in every company it’s a give and take relationship, in WWE that was not the case. While a company cannot let everyone do whatever they want to, WWE did not care about any efforts or inputs at all. There were no rewards for wrestlers even if they performed.

This is not the first time a wrestler has spoken out against the company. A number of wrestlers who quit the company and signed with AEW instead, said the same.

Vince McMahon has a particular way of doing things and it does not appeal to all Superstars. On top of that, there are numerous moments when Superstars have pitched their own ideas to the writers but none of them took it to Vince McMahon.

It seems as though EC3 had done the same. However, since he did not get rewarded in any way, he was forced to ask the company to release him.

Not only this, but there were also times when the wrestlers have spoken about how it was not easy for them to reach McMahon.

“Honestly, I was going to ask to be released but the pandemic was the only thing that kept me there because I needed money to support my family in case something horrible happened. So they did it for me and that’s fine. I was fine, I was okay. I was actually very relieved. The man who called me seemed to be very upset having to do all that so I was like ‘this is fine. It’s okay. Like it’s going to be okay.’ I don’t have anyone to prove to anyone else or them at all because I don’t live in the past anymore.”
