Latest reports stated WCW star Lodi suffering from a major heart attack while returning from a match. While speaking to  Queen City News Lodi revealed first ignoring the signs, but later things when turned worse, he took himself to medical attention.

Lodi had a heart attack while driving back from his match and felt the severity of it when he was unable to drive. Fearing a similar fate such as Macho Man Randy Savage, Lodi drove himself to a nearby hospital. He said, “’I’m like ‘God, just don’t let me hurt anyone because we all know how Macho Man Randy Savage died. I was doubled over and driving one hand and trying to keep my eyes on the road.”

After being diagnosed at the hospital, the sky fell on him. Lodi found two of his arteries blocked, and another artery blocked almost 90%. He had to undergo immediate a five-hour quintuple bypass surgery, to save his life.

The 52-year-old wrestler was once a part of the stable The Flock led by Raven in WCW and was not particularly an upper-card star. A recovering addict, Lodi’s past might finally be catching up to him. After the five-hour surgery, Lodi admitted himself to a rehab and is working on getting better.

He would become unresponsive, and crash into a nearby tree, with his wife in the passenger seat. When paramedics and EMTs arrived, they found both Savage and his wife in seatbelts, and minor injuries, but Savage had already passed away due to the heart attack, at age 58.

With no prior history of heart disease, the attack was sudden and new and left everyone in shock. Lodi could have suffered a similar fate, but his quick wit and determination saved his life.
