Fans are still wondering whether the former World Champion Daniel Bryan will be in this year’s Universal title match at WrestleMania. But the ultimate underdog himself is talking about someone who he feels is underappreciated in the industry.

While talking to TalkSport, Bryan decried how underappreciated Brock Lesnar is in the industry. Considering Lesnar’s rise to superstardom in WWE and UFC, this comment might sound odd, but Bryan has his reasons behind his statement.

“Wrestling Brock Lesnar, I don’t think anybody appreciates how great Brock Lesnar is and the mind that he brings to wrestling,” said Bryan.

Lesnar has a reputation for being stiff during his in-ring presence.

Bryan agrees how Lesnar “loves farming, loves being at home,” but at the same time, he loves his job. “But his eyes light up when he does this,” according to Bryan.

Daniel Bryan is proud of his match with Brock Lesnar

After waiting for a considerable time, Bryan finally got his dream match with Lesnar at Survivor Series 2018. The match was a champion vs champion battle, where Raw’s Universal Champion Lesnar went up against SmackDown’s WWE Champion Bryan.

“I was thrilled, I was absolutely thrilled,” Bryan started. “I wanted the Brock Lesnar match for a long time but how I always envisioned it was babyface Daniel Bryan! Yes, man Daniel Bryan, underdog Daniel Bryan against the killer Brock Lesnar.”

However, by then, Bryan had already become a household name. He won his fourth world championship following a low-blow to AJ Styles. Bryan was going to be in SmackDown’s 5-man tag team match, but the victory put him in the main event.

Bryan recalls, “So it was a really weird thing, but I think the weirdness of it also made it fun and made it more pleasurable for me.”

Although he lost the match, Bryan has only praised the “Beast Incarnate.

That match is something that I’m really, really proud of and it was a test for me. I don’t think there’s been anybody in the history of WWE who’s been more excited to take a German Suplex from Brock Lesnar than me,” Bryan joked.
