Booker T is one of the most beloved wrestlers of all time. The WWE Hall of Famer has won six World Championships and is also a Tag Team specialist. He left WWE in late 2007 but made his return to an emphatic reaction in the 2011 Royal Rumble match.

Booker T talks about his WWE return at the 2011 Royal Rumble

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer joined Renee Young and Paige on the Royal Rumble special edition of WWE Backstage on FS1 last night. The panel talked about everything to hype the Royal Rumble on Sunday. Speaking of the Rumble, Booker T also talked about his surprise return in the 2011 edition.

He said, “I’ve never won a Royal Rumble. It’s always been about feeling a certain way. So, when I left the company [WWE] and came back in 2011, I was like, ‘Man, are the fans gonna accept me? Are they still gonna give me the pass like they’ve always have?'”

Booker didn’t believe the pop he got on his return. It was so surreal that he thought The Rock was standing behind him. He said, “When I walked out the curtain, all I remember is thinking that the pop, it was like Road Warrior. I looked behind because I thought The Rock was standing behind me.”

Booker’s Royal Rumble return was an exciting surprise for the entire WWE Universe. Sadly, he didn’t really stay in the match for long as Mason Ryan of CM Punk‘s New Nexus eliminated him in just over one minute.

What did Booker do upon his return?

He turned to commentary right after the Rumble and wrestled a few matches during his Intercontinental Championship program with Cody Rhodes. After unsuccessful attempts, Booker returned to commentary. The Six-Time World Champion also took part in the 2012 Royal Rumble entering at #17.

Booker T wrestled his final match for the WWE at WrestleMania XXVII when he joined Team Teddy against Team Johnny. When he said he’s never won a Royal Rumble on WWE Backstage last night, Renee quickly said, “Not yet.”

If this little hint and Booker’s smirk are real, then we might see him enter the 2021 Royal Rumble!
