Naomi and Sasha Banks were two of the most popular women wrestlers on WWE’s roster. However, the two would have a walkout last year from the company over creative disputes with the management. Soon, their titles would be stripped of them, and they would stop appearing on WWE television.

However, recently, earlier this year, Sasha Banks would make her debut in NJPW as Mercedes Mone, while Naomi, now going by the name Trinity, would switch gears to Impact Wrestling. While many fans expected the two friends to land up on the same promotion, it did not happen.

Fans were expecting Trinity to move to AEW but were left blindsided when she chose Impact Wrestling. Compared to WWE, Impact Wrestling is a much smaller wrestling promotion, and lacks both the manpower and the financial means.

However, Jim Ross recently commented on Naomi’s choice of switching to Impact wrestling due to the creative freedom she enjoys and the monetary rewards. In pro wrestling, being creative is a major thing, and no amount of money can live up to it.

However, he also praised her guts to choose creativity over money. Ross said,  I was surprised she went there and not because I thought she was coming to work for AEW but that would have been a bad landing spot either for her.

He further claimed, “She’s very talented, very creative. So, you get motivated talent that come in. They want to express their own creativity and that maybe one of the things that let her out of WWE, I don’t know. But that’s a viable option I guess. Her not having a say in her own TV persona. You always want to motivate your talents to come in and join in their creative. “

The 71-year-old would further praise her talent and in-ring career. Despite being paid less on Impact wrestling, Naomi would be creatively involved in her career and will be able to pull off her character in a big manner.

Her friend Sasha Banks was present during her debut on Impact Wrestling. Fans now need to wait and see where she takes her career from here, and if leaving WWE turns out to be a wonderful decision or not.
