Over the course of his WWE tenure, very few have been able to forge as close a relationship with McMahon as WWE legend Bruce Prichard. The long-time WWE executive remained McMahon’s right-hand man for the majority of his career in the company.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo recently talked of the closeness between Prichard and McMahon and how Prichard would do anything for his former boss.
Russo talked about Prichard’s love for Vince McMahon
Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard’s relation is well documented. The former on-screen manager was part of McMahon’s inner circle and his word highly valued. Vince Russo, who worked as a writer with WWE from 1992 to 99, talked about the depth of Prichard-McMahon friendship.
In an interview with ‘The Hannibal TV’, Russo said Prichard’s love for McMahon is like a son’s love for his father.
The former WCW Champion revealed, “If Bruce is a con man, it is out of his love for Vince. I mean seriously, Bruce Prichard, I think, would take a bullet for Vince McMahon. I think a lot of times Bruce was put in precarious situations because bro, he’s always looking to please Vince. … Bruce’s love for Vince bro, it’s a son’s love for his father.”
He further said that Prichard, who is a millionaire, did some things for McMahon that were hard on him.
Russo added, “So it’s very, very strange, but … Bruce probably did some things that even consciously was hard for him to do, but he did it out of the love for Vince. I know why he does the things that he does, but I’ve never been able to explain that absolute love for Vince McMahon.”
