Before we are done collecting the teases and hints from tonight’s extravaganza, Next week Raw sets the stage for some bigger drama. The Cody Rhodes and CM Punk segment seems to promise us the ultimate fiery confrontation next week ahead of the 30-man fight.

Both men will be eager to win the Royal Rumble match and etch their legacy in the main event of WrestleMania. The two men aim to complete their own stories by winning the Rumble and main eventing WrestleMania. Punk will hope to fulfill his long-standing wish of main-eventing the biggest PLE of WWE and clinching the championship gold. Rhodes, on the other hand, will aim to complete his story after falling agonizingly close during last year’s event. For now, we can just bulk up for a boiling Monday Night Raw next week to see what the two titans talk about.

WWE has now officially sealed a CM Punk vs Cody Rhodes encounter for next week’s Red Brand show. Punk came across The American Nightmare in a singles match on December 29, 2008, and received an enormous blow from the former AEW star. The duo never crossed paths again inside the squared circle afterward. So, Punk has to settle the score this time to cement his mojo in the promotion.

Punk and Rhodes resemble each other to some extent. Both of them used to be two major prospects of Tony Khan’s business until they reverted to their same old wrestling home.
