Another thing that made Hogan stand out from other wrestlers was his unique fashion sense. Hogan knows how to put on a show, but he also knows how to put on an eye-catching outfit. Other than his days in nWo, Hogan used to wear his iconic red and yellow outfit in pro wrestling.

The inspiration behind Hulk Hogan‘s iconic outfit is as interesting as his character. In a video by Fox Sports, Hulk Hogan opened up about the inspirations behind his outfit. The first inspiration that Hogan took for his outfit was from the father of his fellow wrestler at that time, Randy Savage.

Hogan said in the video, “I always remembered Randy Savage’s father, Angelo Poffo when I was a kid growing up in Tampa. He always wore those canary yellow trunks. It didn’t matter if he had a great or bad match, I just remembered how good he looked in the ring with that tan and yellow.”

Hulk Hogan got his inspiration from McDonald’s

Bright colors always attracted Hogan, and later he decided to include those colors in his gimmick. He was also suggested picking red and yellow by his manager, Jimmy Hart. “I gotta give props to McDonald’s, I stole their red and yellow, it worked forever, and the fans just dug the colors,” said Hogan.

Hollywood Hogan knew what colors would work best for him and trusted his instinct, and it paid off. Red and Yellow colors definitely worked for both Hogan and McDonald’s as they both went on to gain fame worldwide. Hogan turned out to be one of the most influential wrestlers who impacted pro wrestling.
