There have been many backstage altercations between professional wrestlers throughout the years. However, things can take an ugly turn when the altercations involve WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. One half of the Raw Tag Team Champions, Matt Riddle, has been the center of the news lately as news broke out of him having some beef with Goldberg.

Riddle has openly criticized the WWE legend on multiple occasions and has targeted his limited move-sets inside the squared circle. The two individuals had met backstage at the SummerSlam PPV in 2019, but nothing happened back then.

Matt Riddle has mixed feelings for Goldberg

Former WCW Champion, Goldberg, is notoriously famous for his short matches in his professional wrestling career spanning over two decades. However, this has never impacted his persona or his legitimacy inside the squared circle, but Riddle thinks otherwise.

Appearing on Ryan Satin’s ‘Out of Character’ podcast, the former United States Champion cleared the air regarding his beef with the veteran wrestler.

Riddle confessed he speaks a lot and sometimes out of context. And he even praised the WWE legend for what he has achieved in the pro-wrestling industry.

“I talk a lot of trash, but at the end of the day when you get to know me and even in the past, working with other people they’re probably gonna bring me up and talk about me.”

“I’m not that bad. They understand what I’m doing, eventually. Goldberg, I believe, gets it I think. He respects me, and I respect Goldberg the whole time.”

Riddle is not a fan?

However, he also admitted that he still is not fully convinced of the way Goldberg carries himself as a wrestler during a match. Riddle event went on to say that he’s not a fan of Goldberg’s technical ability.

“It’s just that I’m not a huge fan of his style in the ring. I like his promos, his movies, and his move-sets. But I’m not a big fan of his technical wrestling, but I respect his aura.”
