Love, something that can make anyone a daydreamer. But, it turned out to be a nightmare for a 69 year old WWE legend. He was once on the verge of being bankrupt because of it. A decade back, WWE legend and Hollywood star Hulk Hogan came forward and shared unfortunate events that happened to him during his time with his ex-wife Linda Hogan. And, it included going from a million-dollar-earning man to a financially broke person. In his documentary Hogan said:

“I quit working to try to fix my personal situation…..save my marriage…. so, the money was going out at a rapid-fire rate and I was only making a couple million bucks a year at that time but there were seven eight nine ten being spent a year and that’s when financial problems started being happening.”

Hulk Hogan married Linda Claridge in 1983. After five years, the couple welcomed their first kid. Things were going pretty well until 2007 when Christiane Plante claimed that Hogan has an affair with her. This made Linda and Hogan’s relationship fragile. Hulk Hogan stated that during that time he tried very hard to save his marriage which included leaving his job. However, it didn’t go well and the couple ended their marriage in 2008. In his autobiography, Hulk hogan acknowledged that Linda had suspected him several times of having an affair, which according to him wasn’t true.

Hogan even considered committing suicide after the divorce. Fortunately, his co-star Laila Ali helped him to go through the tough time. 

Other times Hulk Hogan faced financial trouble

That wasn’t the only time when Hulk Hogan faced financial issues. There was a time when this 69-year-old WWE legend was at the top of the pro wrestling industry. During his time in WWE, the company wasn’t as big as it is now. Hogan and some other stars of that time like Andre the Giant along with Vincent Kennedy McMahon, who took WWE to the sky.

As his popularity increased, Hulk Hogan decided to pursue acting as well. And, eventually, he did great in that as well. But things started to go downhill when he started squandering his money on luxury cars, homes and other stuff. And the divorce settlement with Linda added fuel to the fire. According to the reports, Hogan had to reduce the price of his Florida mansion by 16 million dollars just to sell it fast.

The financial trouble of a legend like Hulk Hogan reminded the world, how important it is to manage their expenses. Even after being a successful star, Hogan suffered financially. However, he learned his lesson and started investing his money in different ventures to stay on the safe side.
