Kurt Angle has been an important part of WWE, and has created a legacy which continues to be a crucial part of WWE’s history.

However, everyone teaches that point when they can’t keep going on. With Superstars and pro-wrestlers, it’s usually when their bodies start to give up and need to heal. This too happened with Kurt Angle.

Vince McMahon approached him saying he needed The Olympic Gold Medalist to be the face of ECW. Kurt Angle realized he needed to give his body some rest. On the other hand, he didn’t know when it would end considering Superstars on the main roster were injured and there wasn’t anyone suitable to replace him.

“I just think that he never discussed anything about the length or period of time or anything like that. He just wanted me to be the main face of ECW. And I figured it was going to run as long as ECW ran. So, I was willing to do it, I just, at the time I needed an amount of rest. I need to be at home, nurse my injuries. I couldn’t afford to go there because they just started a new promotion. A bunch of guys from SmackDown and Raw roster were injured so I didn’t have any time. I had to continue on until somebody can replace me.”

Eventually, Kurt Angle did leave WWE. His last match was against Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35. Even though he wanted a match against John Cena, he had to settle for a match against Corbin at that point.
