Dusty Rhodes had a greater influence on several current WWE superstars, as he spent ample time with them in FCW and NXT. However, The American Dream passed away in 2015, two years after Brandi married Cody Rhodes and became part of the Runnels family.
Recently, while replying to a fan, Brandi Rhodes talked about meeting Dusty Rhodes for the first time. The fan was curious whether she ever meet her father-in-law.
The 39-year-old wrote, “I met him before I ever met my husband. He was my coach in FCW and NXT. We had a great friendship and he had a massive influence on my career and I miss him so very much. Wish my daughter got to meet him ❤️”

Before joining WWE as a ring announcer in 2014, Brandi was an FCW talent in 2011 and also was in NXT for a brief period in 2013. At the same time, Dusty was a major part of the developmental territory of WWE.
As per her tweet, we can assume she had a great relationship with ‘The American Nightmare’s’ father before meeting her husband. Moreover, they got to know each other very well, and she became a part of the Rhodes family in 2013.
We recently saw Brandi supporting her husband at WrestleMania 39 at the ringside with their daughter Liberty. Rhodes had a moment with his wife and daughter before entering the ring for his match. Furthermore, even after the loss at the grandest stage, Brandi later shared a tweet motivating her husband.
Cody Rhodes shifts his focus after the WrestleMania 39 loss
The American Nightmare main evented his first WrestleMania but fell short to make it a memorable moment. Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman interfered in the match allowing Roman Reigns to pick up the win.
Surprisingly, on the RAW after WrestleMania, Rhodes faced another blow, when Brock Lesnar attacked him before the main event. The Beast Incarnate put the former two-time Intercontinental Champion through a brutal beating to end the show.

Nevertheless, on the recent episode of Monday Night RAW, Rhodes shifted his focus to Lesnar. He called out The Conqueror for a match at Backlash next month in Puerto Rico.

It seems The Beast will be present on next week’s RAW to address Rhodes’ challenge for the PLE. Also, the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble winner will try to conquer Lesnar before once again going on the hunt for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
