Media had reported earlier that The Monday Night Messiah would play a villainous role in the next installment of a film that grossed $1 billion worldwide. With his MCU debut on the horizon, the former WWE United States Champion became the second member of his family to join the Marvel family. Earlier, his wife Becky Lynch had filmed a role for Eternals, which was eventually nixed.

While the WWE Universe cheered Rollins’ recent achievement, some fans expressed confusion at the set of events.

Apart from news of his new movie role in Captain America: New World Order, Rollins is scheduled to feature in the finals of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. The Visionary will go against AJ Styles, who emerged victorious from the SmackDown division. Meanwhile, the third movie of the franchise, Captain America: Civil War, reportedly raked in $1.153 billion at the box office. Needless to say, the fourth film is eagerly expected by fans.

Filming a movie takes time, and this turn of events left fans wondering if AJ Styles would win the championship at Night of Champions on May 27 in Saudi Arabia.

According to Wrestle Ops, the 36-year-old would be essaying the role of a member of the Serpent Society. Additionally, the villainous MCU business enterprise comprises criminals and mercenaries. Serpent Society debuted in Captain America #310 in October 1985.

Nevertheless, Rollins’ fans would hope that his role remains in the film and doesn’t suffer the same fate as Becky Lynch. Captain America: New World Order is set to release in the USA on 3 May, 2024.
